MODULE: SOURCING PORTRAIT PHOTO
DESCRIPTION
The reference photo for your Procreate illustration can essentially drive the outcome of your illustration, making the selection of this photo a key foundational step.
This module will define the elements of an effective reference photo and help you easily select correct photos for your own portrait illustrations.
OBJECTIVE
Given a photo from the search results for “portrait” on the royalty-free photography platform Unsplash, the student is able to decide if the photo is suitable as a reference photo for a digital illustration on the first attempt.
WHAT WE'VE LEARNED SO FAR
So far, we have learned how to create a new artboard with a specific size on the Procreate illustration and name the artboard in Gallery view.
WHERE WE ARE GOING?
After successfully completing this module, you will be able to select and download a suitable portrait reference photo for your own illustration.
This will allow you to move onto the next steps, which include importing the reference photo onto your artboard on Procreate and drawing the illustration itself.
